The ever so fabulous downtown Austin boutique, Peyton’s Place, approached Posey with the task of transforming the shop into a Moroccan Lounge. Peyton’s Place teamed up with the Austin based swimsuit label, Bandita Couture, a to host an entertainment-packed cocktail party for Austin’s Fashion Week. With my recent return from Marrakech, I could not have been more thrilled!
In order to achieve our Moroccan look, I let the rich, vibrant colors of the culture serve as our inspiration. We constructed a simplified “tent” structure, a lounge sofa complete with authentic Moroccan fabrics, and adorned the shop with various lamps and “treasures” acquired on my trip. The outcome was a wonderful feminine-Moroccan feel. Now if only we could have a found a way to get that marvelous spice aroma of the sooks incorporated into the store. . .

Lauren + Austin: A hometown affair!
My dear friend Lauren married her Tyler-bred sweetie, Austin, in our hometown of Abilene, TX this summer. It was a gorgeous event: the definition of traditional elegance. Lauren was such a stunning bride, made all the lovelier by her groom “arm-candy”!
As I was preparing for the wedding I realized there is something so indescribably special about making a bridal bouquet for your friend of 20+ years! I know Lauren right down to the tee, and just could not wait to see the look on her face when she held her bouquet for the first time. Lauren gave me total “creative authority” and I was certain it would be exactly what she would love. Of course, I love making ALL bridal bouquets, but I certainly wish I knew all of our brides that well!
Congrats to Lauren and Austin!
Thanks to White’s Photography for all the lovely photos!
