Lauren + Austin: A hometown affair!

My dear friend Lauren married her Tyler-bred sweetie, Austin, in our hometown of Abilene, TX this summer. It was a gorgeous event: the definition of traditional elegance. Lauren was such a stunning bride, made all the lovelier by her groom “arm-candy”!

As I was preparing for the wedding I realized there is something so indescribably special about making a bridal bouquet for your friend of 20+ years! I know Lauren right down to the tee, and just could not wait to see the look on her face when she held her bouquet for the first time. Lauren gave me total “creative authority” and I was certain it would be exactly what she would love. Of course, I love making ALL bridal bouquets, but I certainly wish I knew all of our brides that well!

Congrats to Lauren and Austin!

Thanks to White’s Photography for all the lovely photos!

Fashion Week Special: From Boutique to Moroccan Lounge

The ever so fabulous downtown Austin boutique, Peyton’s Place, approached Posey with the task of transforming the shop into a Moroccan Lounge. Peyton’s Place teamed up with the Austin based swimsuit label, Bandita Couture, a to host an entertainment-packed cocktail party for Austin’s Fashion Week. With my recent return from Marrakech, I could not have been more thrilled!

In order to achieve our Moroccan look, I let the rich, vibrant colors of the culture serve as our inspiration. We constructed a simplified “tent” structure, a lounge sofa complete with authentic Moroccan fabrics, and adorned the shop with various lamps and “treasures” acquired on my trip. The outcome was a wonderful feminine-Moroccan feel. Now if only we could have a found a way to get that marvelous spice aroma of the sooks incorporated into the store. . .

Bibb+Conkling – One Spectacular Wedding!

This past weekend Posey had the honor to be apart of Rachel and Cole’s wedding at the always-stunning Driskill Hotel.   Bethany with 36th Street Events did an AMAZING job coordinating the entire thing – everything went off without any hitches!

All I know is that this wedding was absolutely amazing!  Her colors were coral and ivory with touches of greens, and she loved candlelight and clear glass for vessels.  The flowers we chose consisted of orchids, callas, garden roses, tulips and spider mums in lots of monofloral arrangements.

For the church, Rachel wanted a slightly whimsical look.  With this in mind, Posey used curly willow tips, hydrangeas and amaranths.  Her bouquet was clean, simple and elegant, consisting of peonies, garden roses, freesia blooms, and orchids.  The bridesmaids carried petite bouquets of hydrangeas, colorful garden roses, and green cymbidiums.

The head table was stunning — it blew both Bonni and I away!  We were so happy with the way it turned out!

For the cocktail tables, we couldn’t find the perfect linens anywhere, so Posey custom made these gorgeous coral dupioni silk linens.  After picking those out, we decided to add touches of the coral dupioni to each place setting.  Posey did so by wrapping each napkin with a piece of the silk and tying it off with a piece of variegated grass.

To add more accents of green, we placed a green spider mum in the back of chair sash – the green on coral looked fabulous!

Because of the large number of dining tables we decided on doing four different sets of centerpieces.

Enjoy the photos I took, but be on the look out for some from their awesome photographer, Cory Ryan.  She’s super talented and I can’t wait to see how she captured the night!

Aguapalooza gets Florified!

Check out Posey’s Aguapalooza installation! We just loved this one! With a beautiful backdrop of The Reserve at Lake Travis, Posey landed the opportunity to decorate for one of the summer’s biggest events!

The large display had so many details we were excited about! To compliment the large callas and cymbidium orchid stems, we added bubbles, tinted lighting, and various other touches that kept the piece elegant, yet fun.

Make sure and check out Aguapalooza this weekend if you can. It should be a great time and The Reserve at Lake Travis is just spectacular! Also, keep The Reserve in mind for your next event, or even a wedding! We can’t think of a prettier place to celebrate.

Bethany+Joe: The Wedding

A little over a month ago I posted some bridals of Bethany (of 36th Street Events) that I was able to capture while Jennifer Nichols was doing the official shooting.   Well now here are some peaks of the wedding flowers from Bethany and Joe’s super special day.   For more photos of their wedding, check out The Nichol’s blog. Thanks so, so, so much to Bethany and Joe for letting Posey and me be apart of your wedding!  Love you guys!

I LOVE how Bethany incorporated her grandmother’s bee broach into her bouquet — such a sweet and personal touch!

I also love how all the bridesmaids carried different monofloral bouquets and had different grey dresses — so unique and so much fun!  I hope we start seeing this trend more.

Congrats Bethany and Joe!!!

Jen+Mike: The Official Photographs

A few weeks ago Posey posted about Jen and Mike’s awesome wedding out at Hideout on the Horseshoe.  Well we’re a bit behind in our blogging, but nonetheless, here are some awesome shots of Posey’s work that Daniel, of Daniel C Photography, captured of the night.  Hope you enjoy!

I love how they chose to reuse the rehearsal dinner centerpieces on the bar at the wedding!!

We also really love how they reused the ceremony pieces to frame the stage — great use of getting more bang with the flowers!

Congrats again to Mike and Jen!!
