Kat + Larry

Posey was thrilled to work with Kat + Larry to create their modern-take on a rustic wedding in Aspen, Colorado. The ceremony and reception was held at Little Nell’s Aspen Mountain Club. The couple’s unique style offered a fresh take on mountain weddings. For Kat’s bouquet, Posey used calla lilies, roses, lisianthus, yarrow, garden roses, fiddlehead ferns, and craspedia. Kat wore her mother’s dress that she had specifically tailored to her style.

Posey created two different types of centerpieces.
For the smaller ones, Posey used artichoke, calla lilies, stock, scabiosa, hydrangea, and boston fern leaves.

For the larger centerpieces, Posey used hydrangea, succulents, poppy seed pods, stock, yarrow, roses, and lisianthus placed in a wooden log for a rustic effect.

Mountain Flowers of Aspen created the arches for the ceremony. Lush, modern, and rustic, was the perfect fit for Kat + Larry.

For the bridesmaid’s bouquets, Posey used roses, tulips, hydrangea, yarrow, calla lilies, garden roses, scabiosa, and orchids.

Posey continued with the same flowers for the cake topper using roses, yarrow, and dahlias. This created a sleek, elegant finish for the couple’s cake.

Congratulations Kat + Larry! Posey thanks The Little Nell’s Aspen Mountain Club for their help and accommodations. Thank you Kat + Larry for letting Posey be a part of your special day!

Claire + EJ

Posey had the opportunity to work with Bethany Hanson of 36th Street Events this past weekend for Claire + EJ’s charming wedding. Their small, intimate, ceremony and reception was held at The Allan House in Austin, Texas. Combining rustic elegance with southern flair, Claire + EJ held an event that all their guests will certainly remember. Claire’s vintage, rustic bouquet was filled with succulents, peonies, lisianthus, garden roses, dusty miller, and ranunculus. One of our absolute favorites!

For centerpieces, Claire + EJ wanted to keep it simple by using mason jar arrangements with various types of flowers. These particular arrangements had ranunculus, stock, dahlias, and lisianthus.A floating peony was placed in a glass votive holder. Since gold was one of Claire’s favorite colors, Posey painted succulents to create a modern glam feel for this soft romantic wedding. Votives encompassed the flowers on each table to create a cozier setting.

For aisle markers, Claire + EJ wanted mason jars tied with twine to hang from the edges of the chairs. This particular arrangement consisted of a coral charm peony, green hydrangea, lisianthus, astilbes, thistle, (painted gold) and dusty miller.

Many thanks to Bethany at 36th Street Events, The Allan House, and of course Claire + EJ for including Posey on their special day! It turned out so beautiful!

Jessica + Nick

Jessica + Nick held their wedding and reception at the Neill Cochran Museum in Austin, Texas. Jessica, the founder and designer of Ciarla Bride , loved the vintage charm of the cobblestone paths and wide, plantation-like lawns. Southern flair with a sophisticated edge encompassed Jessica’s style and floral arrangements.

Posey used peonies, roses, dusty miller, lisianthus, blue hydrangea, spray roses, naked eucalyptus, and hypericum to create Jessica + Nick’s table arrangements. Each vase was wrapped in black lace and placed upon black and white paisley table runners. The mix of light blue, pink, and black was an edgier take on these romantic arrangements.

Posey created altar pieces for Jessica + Nick that incorporated pink stock, hydrangeas, peonies, hypericum, roses, and delphinium.

Jessica + Nick were such a pleasure to work with! We wish them the very best!

Serengeti Birthday!

Posey had the pleasure to design a safari-themed birthday party for a very special  11-year-old this past weekend. We transformed her game room into a 5-star safari tent using lots of drapery, lanterns, cots, and animal printed pillows. Make us want to be 11 again!

Posey’s friend Cole at Gray is Grey, an awesome home ware store in Amarillo, Texas, sold us the cardboard animal cut-outs for our Serengeti-inspired floral display. The pieces of birch added a natural feel to the display that sat across the front mantle in the safari tent.

To further entertain the girls, Posey set up a dress-up station with costume clothes and a Polaroid camera to snap photos.

Go get your safari on, Posey style!

SXSW: Welcome to Austin!

It’s that weekend again. People from all over the nation grace the streets of Austin, Texas for live music, food, and fun at SXSW. Posey had the privilege of participating in the Ford Escape Sponsored Party at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q, put on by Chad Hudson Events out of Los Angeles. The event featured new artists: Johnny Stimson, ZZ Ward, Body Language, and Matthew Dear.

Posey used bunny tail, thistle, hydrangeas, stock, delphinium, roses, seeded eucalyptus for the arrangements. Keeping up with the Texas theme, Posey added touches of cotton, feathers, and trailing succulents in wooden boxes and mason jars.

Off to the Escape Lounge for some SXSW fun!

Yan + John

Posey created a classically romantic wedding for Yan + John at the Chateau Bellevue in downtown Austin. With an old world feel and a timelessly elegant venue, Posey used hydrangeas, roses, eucalyptus greenery, stock, tea roses, and lisianthus to create the centerpieces, bouquets, and other arrangements.

Nestled amongst Live Oak trees, Yan + John held their reception at Austin’s famous Paggi House that overlooks Lady Bird Lake. Paggi House has an expansive patio with stunning views of downtown Austin. Going along with the Bride’s Asian roots, Posey used roses, ginger, calla lilies, birds of paradise, bear grass, eucalyptus, and belles of Ireland to honor her heritage.

A special thanks to The Nichols Photography for the wonderful photos, Bethany Hanson at 36th Street Events, Chateau Bellevue, and the Paggi House. Congratulations Yan + John!

Lucy + Dorian

Posey created simple but elegant arrangements for Lucy + Dorian’s wedding at the Villa Antonia in Jonestown, Texas, which is known for its picturesque and old world feel. Lucy + Dorian’s colors consisted of orange, red, pink, and white which juxtaposed the truly romantic, stone trimmed atrium of the Villa Antonia.

Lucy’s fun and beautiful bouquet held ranunculus, roses, and coral charm peonies tied with white satin ribbon.

The bridesmaid’s bouquets consisted of roses, hydrangeas, and peonies, also tied with white satin ribbon.

For their pre-wedding portraits, Posey created Lucy’s hairpiece with a coral charm peony which accented the simplicity of her look.

I love this particular shot because it showcases the overall feel of Lucy + Dorian’s wedding: fun, simple, and beautiful. Posey loved working with them to create their special day. We want to give a special thanks to Nessa K Photography for the fabulous photography, and the Villa Antonia for providing the wonderful venue.

Katrina + Chris

Katrina + Chris brought to Posey an eccentric style that allowed us to have full creative freedom when creating their special day.

Katrina + Chris were the first couple to have their wedding at the W Hotel in downtown Austin. It was the perfect venue for this laid-back, unique, and contemporary couple. Posey chose the colors for Katrina + Chris in shades of merlot, purple, yellow, and white. The contrast between the light and dark colors allowed their eclectic style to shine through.

For the bouquets, Posey combined anthuriums, cymbidium orchids, fiddlehead ferns, peonies, craspedia, and wine calla lilies with accents of bear grass. The bouquet was then tied with a satin, chrome-colored ribbon.

Katrina + Chris’s rings look beautiful perched on craspedia. The yellow that Posey incorporated into the theme brightened up the industrial-styled architecture of the venue.

For the ceremony displays, Posey incorporated anthuriums, cymbidium orchids, fiddlehead ferns, craspedia, wine calla lilies, pin cushion protea, and hanging amaranths in a tall, contemporary vase.

Posey had such a fun, creative experience working with Katrina + Chris. A big thanks to Amelia Tarbet for her stunning photographs, as well as, 36th Street Events for coordinating, and of course the W Hotel.

Cheers!

Clara + Daniel

Lately, over at Posey, we have been seeing a return to femininity. Think pale pinks, whites, peaches and soft, romantic florals. This Laguna Gloria wedding is no exception. Posey is excited to share a few shots from Clara and Daniel’s romantic, garden chic wedding!

We would like to give a special thanks to Red Fly Photography for sharing these beautiful images of Clara and Daniel’s special day with us!

This is one of our favorite table pieces. It is a composite arrangement composed of antique hydrangeas, tulips and peonies.

Keeping the idea of femininity in mind, the other table arrangements were a mix of antique hydrangeas, roses, ranunculus, berries, stock, dusty miller and tea roses in shades of green, light pinks, and creams resting atop antique, glass cake plates.

The Bridal bouquet was stunning and composed of hydrangeas, garden roses, gardenias, peonies, freesia, ranunculus, tulips and astilbes mixed with one of Posey’s all time favorites, Dusty Miller. Gorgeous!

The bridesmaids carried petite garden style bouquets in creams and blushes with a crown of berries and scented geranium leaf. A perfect compliment to the garden setting and pale pink dresses!

The cake was simply decorated with gardenia blooms.

Thanks to Clara and Daniel for letting us be a part of your special day! Congrats!
